Risk
Assessment Engineer or Analyst Positions
STP
has openings in its Oversight Department for Probabilistic
Risk Assessment (PRA) engineers or analysts to support
plant operations and the proposed new units. Those
hired will develop and implement probabilistic methods
and approaches to maintain, upgrade and incorporate
quantitative and qualitative risk management of station
programs and processes. The positions require eight
or more years' PRA-related experience; a Bachelor's
degree or higher in engineering, mathematics or physics;
and knowledge of the ASME RA-Sb-2005 standard for
PRA at nuclear power plants.
Licensing
Engineers/Specialists
STP
has openings for Licensing Engineers/Specialists in
its Regulatory Affairs Department devoted to the licensing/construction
efforts for Units 3 & 4. The positions require
a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a BS degree
in Mathematics, Physical Science or Engineering Technology.
In addition, the position requires a minimum of two
years' licensing experience at a commercially operating
nuclear plant.
Associate
Engineers
STP
has openings for motivated, entry-level degreed engineers
to support its two operating units and effort to construct
two additional units. The positions require a Bachelor's
degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Nuclear or
Civil Engineering, or Engineering Technology. Opportunities
exist in a variety of engineering functions including
design, systems, maintenance, testing/programs, fuels
analysis and regulatory/licensing.
Engineering
Internships
STP
also provides Engineering internships year-round to
bright and enthusiastic college students eager for
real-world experience with an industry leader. Internships
are available to college and graduate students majoring
in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Nuclear
Engineering, or Engineering Technology. Students with
ties to the central Texas Gulf Coast are especially
encouraged to apply.

Educational
Incentive Program
STP,
in cooperation with local colleges, has developed
an innovative Nuclear Power Technology associates
(two-year) degree program to prepare students for
well paid apprentice positions as plant operators
and electrical, mechanical, chemistry, health physics
or I&C technicians. STP will help students earn
that degree by providing stipends, paid internships
and summer co-op positions, as well as all tuition,
fee and book costs for select students, through the
